Marta A. Recasens, M.D. is a Vitreo-Retinal Specialist and Surgeon. She is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Loyola Marymount University and later returned to her country, Argentina, to complete her Medical Doctorate Degree in Buenos Aires, ranking second in her graduation class. Following this, she completed a year of Ophthalmic Research at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. In Michigan, she completed her residency at Kresge Eye Institute/Wayne State University and then went on to a fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Diseases and Surgery at Louisiana State University Eye Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Recasens was Chief Resident and Chief Fellow during her residency and fellowship, respectively. She was selected as the Paul Kayser International Scholar by the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmologists in 1999. She was listed as one of Americas Top Ophthalmologists 2002-2003 and 2004-2008 by the Consumer’s Research Council of America.She was also named as one of Southern Californias Top Doctors by Pasadena Magazine in 2008.
