Sherif M. El-Harazi, M.D., M.P.H.
Meet the Doctor
Dr. El-Harazi is an internationally recognized clinician, surgeon, researcher
and educator. He is the Founder and Medical Director of Lugene Eye Institute
and Global Research Management located in Glendale, CA.
Dr. El-Harazi received a Bachelor of Science as well as his Medical degree
from the University of Alexandria, Egypt. He completed his Ophthalmology
Residency, a Comprehensive Clinical Fellowship as well as Research Fellowship
at the University of Texas-Houston. He later received a Master of Public
Health from the University of Texas-Houston.
Aside from being a practicing ophthalmologist, he serves as a clinical
mentor for the Glendale Adventist Family Practice Residency Program, where
he enjoyed teaching their residents for the last 20 years.
Dr. El-Harazi has an extensive research experience. He authored or co-authored
numerous journal articles, abstracts and book chapters. He participated
as Principal Investigator in nearly 100 clinical trials and research projects
involving the development of new drugs. His work extends beyond ophthalmology
with clinical trial experience in pre-clinical (animal models), and Sub-Investigator
across multiple therapeutic areas (oncology, internal medicine, rheumatology,
and neurology).
Dr. El-Harazi is currently a lead investigator in multiple national clinical
trials and serves as an advisor as well as medical monitor for major pharmaceutical
companies.
